Lawrence Makoare is a New Zealand actor and stunt performer, best known for his roles in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies. Born on March 20th, 1968, in Bastion Point, Auckland, New Zealand, Makoare is of Maori descent and has worked as a builder and forestry worker before entering the film industry. He has also appeared in other films such as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Die Another Day. In addition to his film work, Makoare has also worked in theater and television, including the New Zealand soap opera, Shortland Street. He is known for his imposing physical presence and his ability to portray complex and memorable characters on screen.
